HISTORY and DEVELOPMENT
Benthel Asia School of Technology (BAST) was founded in 2004 holding office at Peninsula Place, Basak, Lapu-lapu City. It formally opened its doors to students in 2006 at its Basak Campus. Benthel Foundation Inc. is the majority stock holder of BAST together with a group of educators who firmly believed that: the industry urgently needs skilled graduates relevant to their line of specialty to address the need for global competitiveness; and to nurture and develop entrepreneurial skills of the students.
BAST Pre-school education utilizes mix traditional and Montessori approach while primary education utilizes traditional curriculum. The primary objective is to give the best education for children to deliver them thru a lifetime of love for knowledge.
In 2008, the secondary education was opened in its 10 has. Campus along M.L.Quezon Hi-way, Cordova, Cebu. BAST high school adopts a technical curriculum focusing on home economics, civil, electrical, and mechanical technology. The pioneer high school students of Benthel Asia School of Technology were full scholars of the Benthel Foundation Inc. Today, the school is continuing its tradition of giving free education to selected underprivileged but deserving incoming high school students from different public schools in Mactan and Cordova, Cebu.
Benthel Asia School of Technology is still growing and preparing its facilities, honing its professional educators in preparation for the opening of its tertiary vocational course in culinary, electrical, mechanical and information technology.
Official Colors
The official colors of BAST are a combination of independent yellow borders and frills and lucky green background inscribed by the official seal at the center with inscription: “Holistic Education at its Best” below the seal.
Official Seal
The seal of BAST is round bearing the name of Benthel Asia School of Technology on its perimeter. Inscribed at the center is the Earth symbolizing the global competitiveness of its graduates, Laurel leaves symbolizing academic excellence, a book symbolizing diligence in study super imposed by a torch for physical sports activities; all inscribed in a circle to symbolize the institution’s holistic approach to education.
